The active registrations in our industrial property portfolio has increased from 93 thousand to over 2 million in 22 years.

The launching event of the TÜRKPATENT Academy and the Signing Ceremony of the Artificial Intelligence-Supported Digital Transformation Project, attended by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih KACIR, were held on January 2, 2025, at the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office conference hall.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister KACIR stated that Türkiye has achieved significant success in domestic patent applications. He stated that the annual number of domestic patent applications, which was only 414, 22 years ago, broke a record and reached 10,186 in 2024.

Referring to Türkiye's ranking in the field of industrial property worldwide, KACIR stated that it ranks 12th in the world in domestic patent applications, 6th in trademark applications and 2nd in design applications. He said that the active registrations in our industrial property portfolio has increased from 93 thousand to over 2 million in 22 years.

Minister KACIR stated that TURKPATENT has transformed from an institution that only carries out registration processes to a structure that contributes to the development of the intellectual property portfolio and innovation ecosystem.
