Intellectual Property and R&D: Resolving Disputes through Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods

 

 

An online event titled "Intellectual Property and R&D: Resolving Disputes through Alternative Dispute Resolution" was organized on December 5, 2024, in collaboration with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

In his opening speech, TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. Zeki DURAK emphasized the importance of alternative dispute resolution methods in resolving intellectual property disputes. He also highlighted that cooperation with stakeholders will continue to promote the more widespread and effective use of these methods.

During the event, discussions focused on intellectual property disputes that may arise in R&D collaboration processes and how these disputes can be addressed from the perspective of contract management. Additionally, the role of arbitration and mediation in resolving intellectual property licensing disputes and the approaches offered by WIPO to international R&D and intellectual property disputes were evaluated.
