Aydın Memecik Zeytini is Being Registered in the European Union

President of TÜRKPATENT Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK announced that Aydın Memecik Zeytini (Olive) has reached the final stage of registration in the European Union.

President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) Prof. Dr. M. Zeki DURAK announced that Aydın Memecik Zeytini (Olive) has reached the final stage of registration in the European Union.

DURAK shared the following on his social media account, “Aydın Memecik Zeytini has reached the final stage of its registration application made with the European Commission. Aydın Memecik Zeytini, whose application was found appropriate by the EU Commission, was published in the EU Official Gazette today (November 18, 2024). It will be registered in the European Union after the three-month objection period. This valuable product of ours will be the fifth geographical indication registered in the European Union for our Aydın province.”

Stating that there are currently 28 geographical indications registered in the European Union, DURAK noted that the processes of a total of 66 applications, 4 of which are in the announcement phase, are ongoing.
